Short Bio

Anna Lovasz is a research fellow at the Institute of Economics, she joined the Labor Market group in 2008. Her research interests include labor economics (discrimination, wage differentials, productivity), applied micro-econometrics, and industrial organization. She studied Economics at the University of Washington (Seattle), receiving a Master of Science degree in 2005, and a PhD in 2008. Her dissertation studied the effect of increased competition on the gender wage gap in Hungary following the transition. Before joining the Institute, she worked as a research assistant at the Labor Project of the Central European University for two years, and visited CERGE-EI in Prague under a Marie Curie fellowship. She has taught at the University of Washington, McDaniel College Budapest, and is currently a part time fellow at the Department of Economics at Eotvos Lorand University.
